6-8pm 2 hrs.

A look at the Train Order Board
Tonight we will run the Test Train 5A.
Picking up two cars on the RIP tracks and running a test lap.

Getting started for the evening session.
Rob Fair on the left and Jordan Osborn on the right.

Jordan helped shave off the corners of the plexi-glass.

Rob fills the gaps with RR ties before ballasting at PRB East Yard.

A little work on the RR today...

Installed the guard rails for the ground throw on the left.

Then painted those same guard rails.

Looks good.
These are the details most people won't notice but
they make all the difference in making a model look realistic.

Some work on the RR...

More ballasting...the divergent line next to the mainline.

Making my way down the track...

I also installed JMRI on the Preschool PC they no longer wanted.
I'm hoping this brings my game to a whole new level.

Back to more ballasting...

Gluing down the ballast.

Finishing up the "stone garden".

A look down PRB East Yard

Restarting the computer and trying to figure out how to connect the JMRI software to my DCS 51 Command Station. As soon as I figure that out, it should elevate my train world by leaps and bounds.

More work at Powder River Basin.

Two weeks ago Rob said we need to concentrate on one area and get it done.

(sounds like something Dean Hatzis would say)

I was so inspired by those words I made my goal this week to finish Powder River Basin scenery.

Here you go...

Ballasting the Mainline

Making progress...

I secured the station platform border near track and end of track bumper.

Here's a closer picture of the corner where the border meets.

Next I'll paint the base our standard brown color.

Added ground foam and buildings.
Plus I "made a scene" with dump truck and front end loader.

"Make a scene"

I added rock fill at the base of the bridge supports.

Finally, repositioned the row homes under construction.

I may try to add a few more details before the day is done.

We'll see...

I'm BACK!
Adding fill next to the back of the coal building.

A little more in the front...

And then in the middle...

Finally this is the middle in the back by the tracks.

I really need to weather the buildings.
They look very "plastic".

The new and improved Central Control Tower.
I added the computer in the middle (now powering up)
And the screen that used to be in the middle, is  now in the upper right corner.

All systems up and running ready to connect the
computer with JMRI to the DCS51 Command Station.

Before I can hook them up I need to purchase one small item
that converts the JMRI software so it is able to
communicate with the Digitrax DCS51.
