Today is the Midwest Train Show at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton IL
I went with Rob Fair and Jordan Osborn.
We each were able to find some good deals and left quite happy.

Here are my good finds...

It looks like rolling stock won the prize at the Midwest Train Show this month.

Cost Breakdown:

Entry Fee: $7.00
Back Row left to right:
Coal Car: $5.00
Box Car: $5.00
Refrigerator Car: $12.00
Front Row left to right:
85' Flat Car: $6.00
Yellow CNW Hopper: $5.00
Green CNW Hopper: $5.00
Total Expenses: $45.00

I also found the spreadsheet on a flash drive that contains all my rolling stock inventory.

I need this spreadsheet to input the Maintenance Sheets which are used for the Rolling Stock log.

Later tonight I was able to put these cars through inspection

These cars passed inspection and will be ready for a TEST run tomorrow.

These two cars failed inspection and will need to be kept at the Workbench until inspection clears.

Train Day!
w/Rob Fair, Milt Feryance, and Jordan Osborn
6-8pm 2 hours

Here's what happened...

Our opening time for discussion...

Jordan is ready for a great night of trains.

An overview of tonight's activities so far...
Milt & Jordan...
Length: 00:00:30 sec.

And Rob...
Length: 00:00:13 sec.

Rob Fair putting a unit coal train together to head back to Melrose Park Power Plant.

As Rob works on the unit coal train, Jordan runs a test train.
These four cars passed inspection last night and ready for their test run tonight.

Lots of activity...running three train at the same time.
Length: 00:00:18 sec.

Finishing the mixed freight engineered by Milt F.
Length: 00:00:30 sec.

Rob Fair runs the unit coal train all the way into the Industrial Park siding.

Back at Powder River Basin trouble shooting some switching snags.

Jordan's test train coming around the corner.

And finally, Milt's mixed freight does a crossover as it heads to Proviso Yard CNW classification.

Same train entering track 4 Proviso Yard CNW Classification.

Returning Road Power to the Engine Facility shown here on the left side of the picture.

Good time had by all!

Tonight I put away the Unit Coal Train in the Melrose Park Power Plant Yard

Here's the paperwork that goes with the operations for tonight.

The finished product.

I also figured out how to store the Clip Boards and the UT4.

Here's how it would look when operating the Melrose Park Power Plant.

Tomorrow I'm going to try to classify the new cars that passed the Test Train yesterday into their assigned trains.

Train 5A Yard Classification
Length: 00:00:11 sec.

Correction: I'm not going to classify the entire yard, just Train 5A.

Pre-classification.
Most of Train 5A is on track 2
(where the brown box car leads the consist)

Post-classification
All cars in place.
The front two cars (brown one leading) are on track 5.
The rest of the consist cars 3-20 are on track 2
(Blue Great Northern 40' box car leading the way).

Wrapping up the week with some paperwork...

I took the notes (right sheet) and turned it into a working document (left sheet) for our Test Trains.

Here's where I'm working on the spreadsheet and getting the columns matched up properly.

We've been doing quite a bit of Railroad Operations so our project list has taken a bit of a hit as of late. There will be more time for that, for now we're getting down the operating procedures on paper and in practice.
