Canal Street is ready for details. |
Everything now glued in place - permanently. |
All the way to the end of the layout. |
The other underpass. |
My work station with most of the pieces now used up. |
That took 47 minutes. I'll record .75 for my records. |

More work on the Clinton Street Chicago Terminal Project
Holes are drilled and plastic tubes inserted. The plastic tubes act like conduit for the wiring. |
A look along Clinton Street viewing south. |
This first session today took 12 minutes. |
Later today... I grabbed a Google Maps view of what I'm trying to model. |
On the model I left the top part of the wall open so I can view the trains as they arrive into the station. |
This is the view of Clinton street looking north. Note the CNW Powerhouse chimney in the center... |
...this is the same view of the model on Clinton Street looking north. CNW Powerhouse chimney in the center. |
I even wired up the lights to illuminate them. |
The same view looking the other direction. |
That session took 55 minutes. I told Jan I would only be gone 30 minutes. Oh oh... |

Removing the facia so I can work on the underpass sections. |
I need to remove the sidewalk sections for the road to pass through. |
I used a Dremel tool to carve out the ends of the sidewalks. |
Then slowly remove the sidewalk and trim the corners... |
...on both sections. |
That part of the project to 26 minutes. |

Later that same day
Drilled out the holes for the tree stumps. Then I cut out the square for the planting box. |
Planting the trees... |
All the trees are now planted. |
Another look from the other view. |
Facia and glass protective sheet in place. |
This is as far as I'm going to get on Clinton Street for now.
I plan on adding traffic signals at both underpass intersections.
More later...
