Mon, Jun 3, 2024

Finished putting away Mixed Freight 5B.
We had quite a time getting these locomotives
back up and running. Probably 30 minutes.

Jordan greets our guests.

Marcus and Rob join the crew.

Marcus brought this wall we will incorporate into
the layout. His granddaughter painted the wall.

Marcus getting ready to head out.

This section will be the next project we tackle.
From here...

...thru here...

...to there.

Rob works on decaling each of the blank commuter cars.

Rob told me, "Each decal is different. They don't
all apply the same."

Rob is using the Commuter Car Fleet spreadsheet
to figure out what car needs what digits.

For tonight's action, see Weekly Update video at the bottom of this blog...

I worked on the wall structure where we'll mount
the new brick wall Marcus brought tonight.

I had to add the gray "concrete" support to match the other side.

Preparing to rub on the Dry Transfer Decal.

Wow! It worked!

See Weekly Update video for a Dry Transfer Decal in action

Looking good.

Other side too.

Finally, I attached the brick wall under the warehouses.

The wall looks like it should be adjusted a bit.
I will either need to move the top in or the bottom out.

Removing and adding decals to commuter cars.

Rob added the other side on Monday night.
I will finish this side tonight.

All set!

Now to remove the decal from this car.

GONE!

Then to add the new number.
DONE!

Removing old numbers and adding new numbers for commuter car.

Using Micro-Sol with a soaked toilet paper to help
lift the factory installed decal.

That's gone.

Now to add the new decal.

First, soak in water for 10 seconds.

Let it sit for at least 1 minutes - I had to wait
at least 2 minutes.

Dab up the extra liquid.

And there you have it! The new number applied.

Fri, Jun 7, 2024

Another car changeover.
Removed the old numbers and added the new numbers.

Same consist different car.

Sat, Jun 8, 2024

Renumbering the commuter cars. Ongoing, but almost done.

Getting ready to remove the current numbers.

This shows what the current numbers were.
These are going to be replaced.

All the numbers have been removed.
The top car has the new numbers already attached.

Now the bottom car has the new numbers attached.
