Running Mixed Manifest Train 5D EB Train Order Board Priority Train #8 with

| Now let's get to work. First, we locate our power at the CNW Engine Facility Track 2 - the two locomotives in the middle of this photo. |

| Train 5D is on its way - 1st lap. |

| After one lap I stop at the pick up location. |
 |
| This is the car a new crew will pick up tomorrow. |

| Paperwork has started. Tomorrow I hope to finish the task at hand. |

Train Day!

Rob finished running Mixed Manifest Train 5D...

| We start where I left off yesterday. Picking up the car waiting for us at CAMF. |
 |
| Jordan is here, but not that happy. He puts on a mean face when he wants to. Actually he wasn't mean at all, just messin'. |
 |
| Rob continues the train moves at the Metra CAMF (California Avenue Maintenance Facility) |
 |
| He picked up the car and now is connecting it to the rest of the train. |
 |
| We've finished our EB laps, and ready to crossover to the WB Proviso Yard. |
 |
| Light power back to the CNW Engine Facility. |
You may ask, "What happened to the other MU'd locomotive?"
Great question. During the final switching in Proviso Yard we had a mishap and lost a coupler head.
Back to the workbench it goes.
We had one locomotive and two cars all with coupler problems report to the workbench tonight.

While that was working...I worked at the workbench...

| Two box cars, one caboose, & one locomotive need attention at the workbench this week. |
 |
| Two box cars gone! Both needed work on couplers. The Frisco box car's coupler needed to be replaced. The SLSP (Southern Pacific) needed a washer adjustment. The coupler was too high so I took the existing coupler and replaced it with a thinner coupler. That fixed the discrepancy in coupler heights. |
 |
| Here are the two box cars ready for pick up the next time Train 5D runs WB. |

More work at the workbench...

| Now to replace this broken coupler on the SD45. |

| Rob Fair gave me a long shank Kadee coupler. I used that to replace the broken coupler. |

Wrapping up this week...

| I decided to stay at the workbench today and work on a very old project. It's the old Athearn SD40-2 #3571. It ran very slow. I will probably try a major overall next time I pull this baby out. |
 |
| Packing it back into the famous Athearn Blue Box. |
 |
| And then back to storage in the cubbies. |
 |
| Next project: Get out the next priority train. Starting with Power C2 UP SD60Ms. |
 |
| I broke off one of the hand rails while trying to MU these together, so it's back to the workbench I go. |
