Train Day!
w/Rob Fair, Josh Jones & Jordan Osborn
6-7:45pm 1.75 hours.
Josh Jones showing Rob Fair his recent Metra trip downtown Chicago.

Jordan Osborn preparing for the evening ahead.

A picture of a picture...Josh Jones getting ready for the train session tonight.

Our first order of business was to troubleshoot why the GE AC6000 UP 7510 wouldn't not work properly.
We were successful getting the light to work.
We were successful in getting the motor to engage.
We were successful in getting sound - idle only.
We were unsuccessful getting any bells or whistles or engine accelerations.

Josh Jones helping the commuter out of Chicago Terminal for a westbound and turnaround eastbound run.

Still running the Metra - Josh Jones (conductor) and Jordan Osborn (engineer).
You can also see Rob Fair getting the double stick tape off the glass.

Final shot of the Metra coming out of Melrose Park and next to Proviso Yard.

Here's the plexiglass Rob Fair was working on tonight.
This is a temporary install, with the final piece being the outer trim board fitting over the top.

Train Day!
w/Josh Jones, Ed Nelson & Jordan Osborn
4-5:30pm 1.5 hrs.
This afternoon, we will mainly check trains after a few cars were inspected this week.
Our main goal was to check coupler heights through a mixed CNW EB freight led by the twins.
Jordan Osborn, Ed Nelson, and Josh Jones get ready for another night of trains.

Ed Nelson gets the caboose ready for the end of the train.

This is the car I worked on last night.
The couplers were too high, so Ed is adjusting the height by adding a shim between the body and the coupler draft gear box.

After a night of train inspecting, Josh and Jordan pose for the exit photo.
Where's Ed?

I had to run upstairs to catch Ed before he left for home.
Nice work, men!
"Very Good", as Ed would say, "Very Good!"
