What's on your workbench this week?
Getting ready to add some more rolling stock to the layout.
I will probably need more wheel sets before I finish this project.

Train Day!
w/Rob Fair, Josh Jones, and Jordan Osborn
Tonight's Train Crew:
Josh Jones, Rob Fair, Jordan Osborn

Having some fun.

Rob Fair preparing the surface for the plexi-glass.

Cutting the plexi-glass.
Which didn't work out very well.

While Rob and I worked on the plexiglass, Josh & Jordan ran the twins around the layout.
Here Josh Jones supervises the run.

Josh Jones gives a helping hand by providing some extra light for Rob Fair to work on the plexiglass installation.

Buddies!

Before we exit for the night, we take one final pose.
Even the train stopped for this final shot.

Train Day!
w/Jordan Osborn & Ed Nelson
4-5:30pm 1.5 hrs.

Jordan Osborn prepares paperwork for tonight's work.

Running CNW "Twins" and getting ready for a Metra Commuter run a little later.
Length: 00:00:21 sec.

Oops! Caught Jordan doing crossword puzzles while train running on slow run.

Having fun tonight!

Watch the CNW Twins coming up the grade.
Length: 00:00:27 sec.

I like this view of the rear of the train to the left and the front of the train to the right.
Length: 00:00:29 sec.

While waiting for CNW Twins to return to the yard, I installed another switch stand.

Jordan Osborn coordinating DCC sheets.

Ed Nelson removes trees from West Chicago Yard office and moves them to Melrose Park.

Finding the right places to put the various kinds of trees.

Jordan Osborn gives his opinion on the placement of the trains.

Here's a night shot.

Ed Nelson built this Crossing station to add to the layout.

Another view.

Ed even added some people enjoying the 2nd floor deck outside the Crossing Station.

Special Guests tonight...
First came Henry & Ida Zielke...
Ida Zielke and Henry Zielke pointing out the finer details of modeling.

Ida & Henry Zielke checking out the "little people" at Chicago Terminal.
Note how they use the little ledge I just installed for their fingers.
Great addition for the other little ones. :)

Henry caught running with the train...
Length: 00:00:31 sec.

...and then Nana and Charlie came to visit.
Hello! from Charlie Zielke and Nana!

Henry & Ida caught running after trains...
Length: 00:00:26 sec.

Nana watching Charlie and Charlie watching trains.
Will he be my next train fan?

Jan looks pretty comfortable in the captain's chair, wouldn't you agree?
Yes, Charlie still watching trains.

Closing out our visitor's session after everyone had gone upstairs I waited to watch our two trains pass each other in the South Power District.
Length: 00:00:32 sec.

Jordan and I drove to B&G today to pick up the decoder extension for AC6000.
Here's what I purchased besides the decoder extension and the cost breakdown:
33" wheel sets: $9.98
decoder extension: $4.95
Powerhouse windows: $8.99
Train Ops. Tax: $2.03
Total Cost today: $25.95

I added the decoder extension, but now I need to remove the shell and make a few more changes.
I think I'll wait for Rob Fair and have him do the rest.
He's just really good at this, so I'll let him get it done.
