Let's start off today with a short video tour.

Carlos laying the cork roadbed. You'll  hear him "live" on the video.
If the video works.

Here's Dean working on the elevation transitions.
He'll finish this up next week on the west side.

Ed Nelson will complete the painting this week.
Great work, Ed!

Dean working his magic with wood and power tools.

I took off the final tapping for the track work.
I'm sure you'll see this picture when we highlight building Union Station.

When the guys come to work on Thursday, they get to work.
As you will see in this picture. No messing around, just concentration and
getting the job done!

Dean securing the final corner piece in before moving to the west end
to work on the elevation transition.

Ed working "in the hole". And yes, he did get out safely :)

Aw yes! The finishing touches.

Week 31

Well, another week of railroading. I'm always amazed at how much the four of us accomplish in just 1.5 hours. Check this out...

We'll open this week with a quick video.
You can get a better feel of the overall layout.
This video was shot right after Carlos turned on the juice to see if his light project was successful
Listen carefully.

Carlos doing his final checks before throwing the switch.

 Double Checking.

Dean Hatzis is tackling the grade change from 1/2 to 0.
We discussed and came up with a different solution.
You'll need to check Week 32 for the results.

Carlos Baez admiring his accomplished lighting project.
Four  power districts all with separate dimmable switches.
Nice work, Carlos!

Ed Nelson gets to every corner on his way to painting the mainlines.
Next week we'll concentrate on the outer areas.

Carlos lends a hand with the grade project.

 Ed really gets around.
I think he painted every power district today.

West end of Proviso Yard looking East.

East end of Proviso Yard looking West.

Ed Nelson started his painting today at the Proviso yard.

Sure accomplished a lot this week!

Enjoy!

Connor Linke and I removed the tape from the brown painted pressed wood.
Dang! I didn't take any pictures of Connor. I'll try to have him back to capture his mug shot.

Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015
We met at our regular time 4-5:30pm.

Carlos Baez worked on the Central Control Wiring Dimmer Switches connecting to main panel.

Curt Berg & Dean Hatzis worked on the engineering plans for Union Station.
This picture shows Dean calculating the proper height for the passenger terminal.

Ed Nelson started painting the pressed wood layout surface.
We chose a chocolate brown to hide any light color coming through the scenery to be added later.

Here are the rest of the shots from our weekly work session:

Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015
I finished drawing all switches on the hard wood surface. I also took track switch inventory:
