Working on videography of Weekly Layout Update for last week, Blog 614

Using these pictures to update new worksheet for new Train Order Board set up

Making sure each train is displayed
on worksheet

Also include the clipboard column

Same for Commuter trains
and extra assignments

Include power assigned to each special and any
extras that have particular power assignments.

Now it is time to show the steps in prep work for the new Sequence Train...

Sequence Train #12 is the Mixed Freight Train 3A
1960s train.

Power assigned for this train is C4 CNW C44-9W
DCC Silent #8718 & 8659

Clipboard is 2B with train manifest cars in consist
worksheet

Writing in the details in the blocks for set up.

Power assigned is here at CNW Engine Facility
Track 2

Pulling out the train from the Proviso Yard CNW
East Yard Track 1

This shows the end of the train and the caboose
that we'll attach before we leave the yard.

That took 15 minutes.

Our lap count location with be the switch at the
Grain Elevator

Making sure I switched back the yard lead switch
to main. Yes I did.

Finish completing the paperwork. Total OTJ time spent
for the prep work was 8 minutes. From 0:06 to 0:14.

setting up the Sequence Train
numbers. Then transfer this
data to the Train Order Board.

Early this morning I tried to get the locomotive power consisted together but it took longer than
expected. I finally got them MU'ed together and ran the train to Signal #1 for the start of its 5 lap
journey later today.

We started off with the crew watching some live action
at the Colorado Train Museum in Greely, CO

Last time I was in Vail, CO I tried my best to go
back home through Greeley. It didn't work, but this
is a destination I'd like to visit on my bucket list.

Two new crew members joined us after about 30 minutes.

Later that night...

Finally permission granted to proceed WB Mixed
Freight Train 5B led by UP C44-9W locomotives
9564 and 9660.
