Train Day!

We're going on a Field Trip to Milton Feryrance's home tonight!

But before we go, I need to pull some wires for the
Clinton Street traffic/crosswalk lights.

My workspace for the project to make sure every-
thing works as it should.

Look what came in the mail today for Z-Stuff for Trains.
These are tabs for the signal bridges to help with the sensors.

At Milt Feryance's home. That is Milt on the left,
and then Rob and Marcus left to right.

More discussion on history and how Milt got started
with his train collection and passion.

I took several videos of our session.

See Saturday's entry for action on Milt's layout.

After I got home I installed the dots that came earlier
in the day. Here is Signal #4

I'm anxious to see if these dots really do solve my operating problems.

Sometimes the lights change and other times they do what they want.

Working on the RR...

This is my sample set up.
Later, I will show the new wiring set up.

In the meantime, let's work on the signage.
The model sits on top of the prototype to see if it matches.

I think this will work.

The tricky part for this section is the street sign
in the middle of the two traffic arms.

I wasn't sure where to place the traffic street ID sign.
So I moved the "No Left Turn" sign and put it in between.

No match on the prototype but I had to display the
street ID so this was my solution.

Here's the new wiring. Rob Fair brought over some
colored wire for me to finish this project.
"Thank you Rob!"

More work on traffic signals & signage...

Adding single signal & crosswalk with signs on the right.

Also added signage to the single signal and crosswalk
to the left at Washington Street.

More signage - this time at W. Randolf Street.

Continuing work on wiring the controller.

One last signage to install on traffic signal.

Opening session at Tom Stover's.
l.tor. Bill, Tom, John, Carl, Glynn, Duane

I spent the opening round here at the dispatcher's office.

Red Cliff before entering Salt Lake City or the Tunnel.

Denver Yard. Glynn at the controls with Tom giving
the assignments.

Our next break. Carl Ball retired in 2000 as the
Sante Fe Police Chief

Back at home. I added all the wires and mounted
the controller for the traffic signals.

Time to start installing the signals...

First I need to install the Clinton
Street sign at Randolph

And the Clinton St. sign at
Washington Street.

Here they are installed at Washington Street.
Just the right side is installed. Still need to install
the left side.

Here's the prototype photo that matches the model.

That took just under 1 hour.
