Train Day!

w/Rob Fair 6-8pm 2 hrs.

Jordan Osborn 6:15-7:15pm 1 hr.

After running Mixed Freight Train 5A WB Rob
gets settled at the workbench (see video of Train 5A in action)

Jordan heads out...

I also fixed the wiring that has been MIA for months.
The white light needed reconnecting.

These lights needed some TLC - reconnecting.

And these yard lights are operational.
Much better!

Finishing inspections on the two blue box cars
that gave me some trouble Monday night.

Ready for next EB pick up.

I replaced the trucks on this one since they are metal
I couldn't use metal wheel sets because I would short
out the tracks. UGH!

I switched out the coupler twice on this one.
The first time the coupler was too low. The second
time was just right after putting in a below center shank.

Here's how it looks connected together.
Much better - test run passed.

I need to finish putting on the guard rails for the locomotive on the left (2056).

Running Mixed Freight Train 5B EB

Down the middle of Proviso Yard

Lots of decoupling from this car!
Removed from service.

I made notes.
I actually removed 2 cars from this consist.

It was a good day.
I spent 1.25 hours in the basement working on the RR today.
