Train Day!

w/Rob Fair (6-7:30pm 1.5 hrs.)

We started the night watching "the Hawk" run over the troubled crossover switches to the Chicago Terminal.

Rob Fair works on filing the uneven surfaces at the switches.

Rob Fair took a break from his work to re-solder a wire that had come off one of the lit cars.

Here is Rob Fair filing the rough parts of the switch points.

While Rob worked on the soldering I placed the cars on the layout to optimize their lights.

Looking east on the Old Route 66 (Adams St.) Chicago Downtown.

Cars placed around the post office and going up to Canal St.

Looking down Canal St. at the entrance of Union Station.

I'm anxious to see how the lit cars will add to the night scene.

"What's going on?"
We had some "issues" at the command station.
Cameron figured them out and we were back in business running trains.

Check this out...
Lots of Train Operations tonight.
Once again, Cam at the contols running three trains at one time.
Here's the intermodal in the South Power District.
Watch until the end and see the EOT device on the caboose.

I've seen this shot before and I like it.
After the intermodal and the commuter trains passed, we have a good view of the eastbound unit coal train rumble through Proviso Yard.
