Train Day!
with Rob Fair (6:15-8pm 1.75 hrs.)
and Jordan Osborn (6-7:30pm 1.5 hrs.)

Rob Fair getting ready to cut more sidewalks.

Jordan Osborn getting ready to run some trains.

We figured out a way to attach the trailers together.
The small pins you see at the four inset corners are cut off paper clips.

Here are the containers snapped together with the rods holding them in place.

Another look at Rob Fair at his workshop.

Jordan Osborn, "So what do you think?"

After gluing down the sidewalks we had to put on the weights to keep them in place until they set.
Sorry I didn't get a look at the cut out pieces before gluing.
We were in the installing mode so we went with it and kept moving.

Special Guests:
Mabel, Henry & Ida Zielke
Looks like I moved taking this photo.
Use your imagination and see the finished sidewalks on the outside and unfinished sidewalks on the inside.

Bird's eye view of the sidewalks installed.
Still need to paint the middle sidewalks.

Ida Zielke came to visit the trains.
She decided to work at the workbench today.

Intermodal train going through Proviso Yard.

Mabel Zielke came to visit too.
She and Henry would eventually run some trains.

Mabel Zielke at the controls.

Meanwhile, back at the workbench, Ida Zielke continues her work.

Here's Henry Zielke, joining his sister, Mabel Zielke.

Mabel Zielke gives Henry Zielke some instructions and then you'll see Henry carrying them out in the next video.

Mabel Zielke leaves and Henry stays to complete instructions.

Before painting, I need to glue down the base for the second building - the one sitting on top of the red-bricked building.

Before Train Day today, I need to get these things done this morning...
Now it's time to paint the inside sidewalks and the building base.

DONE!
I removed the weights and painted this morning before Train Day! this afternoon.
 Ready for Train Day!

Train Day!
w/Dean Hatzis, Cam Passaglia, Jordan Osborn (4-5:30pm 1.5 hrs.)

Jordan Osborn, Cam Passaglia and Dean Hatzis gather for instructions.

Cam and Jordan will run trains tonight to work through any track bugs.
I like the color coordinated t-shirts :)

Dean Hatzis weathers Chicago North.

Cam Passaglia operates the Metra Commuter Train.

Jordan Osborn reacts to my remembering to switch the crossover back to main.
It doesn't happen as often as it should so we celebrate when it does happen.

Nice shot of the Intermodal train coming around the bend.

Dean Hatzis also installed the plexi-glass to protect 25th Avenue bridge.

Another shot of same bridge with plexi-glass in place.
