Week 205

Week 205

I found out the wires behind the control box were messed up so I remounted the control box and rewired and got it working again today.
I'm getting ready for when Neal and family come they have more to operate!
I like to capture a work in progress.
I'm remounting the control box and rewiring the connecting wires.

Here's the finished product.
I tested it and everything is up and working and in order.
I also had some time tonight to glue down the sidewalks on Lake Street.
Take a look...
Getting ready to glue down the sidewalks on either side of Lake Street.

Glue is down, weights are on to keep sidewalks from curling.

Just another view of the same thing.

Train Day with Rob Fair.
Not sure what happened to Jordan Osborn.
He texted me to clarify the time but then wasn't able to come.
He was missed!

Rob Fair will finish connecting the deck bridge to the support platform for the city viaduct.

Rob Fair clamping and attaching the support platforms.

Since the lights were too dim with 29 lights and 12v transformer, I decided to split the lights into two sections.
You can see in this picture where I've splint the lights in two.
It's right at the center left in the picture.

Here's what it looks like split out.
If you go back to week 204 you can see how dim it was with 24v 200mA and 29 lights.

Another view of the split.

Rob Fair continues work on the bridge.

Rob Fair continues shaping and making the connections.

Finished product, ready for placement next week.

Final look at downtown Melrose Park.
Not too bright, but also not too dim.
Just right.

Happy Independence Day!
No Train Day today!
But there was some train activity today...
Since the street lights are installed, the next order of business is to install the RR crossing signals.
This picture shows the holes drilled and straws in place with signals ready to be installed.

One signal on the other side of the tracks is up.
Waiting to install the RR Crossing Signal on this side of the tracks.

Both are installed.
Here's a bird's-eye view.

Here's another shot, but more from a 2nd story window.

And now, here's a video of the working crossing signals.
Note the street traffic lights working in the background.

Length: 00:00:30 sec.

My plan is to install the switch for the RR Crossing Signals
on the panel at the Central Control Tower tonight.
