Getting ready for Train Day tomorrow.
Working on Lake Street "L" overpass
I had to figure out how high the overpass should be for the Metra commuter cars.
It's 5 1/2" from street level.

Here's how it might look when it's lined up.
Tomorrow we'll try to get the elevated lines separated so it will fit on both sides.

Train Day!
With Rob Fair 6:30-8:30pm
Rob Fair is working hard to remove the panels so the end section can be removed.

While Rob works on the city viaduct, I'll work on the skyscraper reliefs.

I want to recreate the look from Western Avenue of the Chicago downtown skyline.
Barely visible in this picture.

You can see the skyline a little better from the roof of the warehouse building on Western Avenue.

Rob is cleaning up the ends of the city viaduct.

Rob is cutting the base we'll use to support the bridge section now supported by 1x4 wood pieces.

You need to look pretty close at these two pictures to see the Chicago skyline in the background.
That's what I'm trying to recreate in this model.
