The overhead lights from China came in this week.
I installed them at Geneva Station.
This week I plan to get the lights working.
Hopefully by Wednesday these will be lit.

TRAIN DAY!

Present (in order of appearance): Curt Berg, Carlos Baez, Jordan Osborn, Josh Jones
Absent: Ed Nelson, Dean Hatzis

As promised, here's the test train running over the tracks Rob Fair fixed on Monday.

Carlos taking another close look from the other direction.

And for the rest of the evening, here's what we did...
Dr. Carlos working on switch contact points.
He had to file them down so the train wouldn't jump the track.

Now for the test run.
Carlos Baez checking the train for QC.

Jordan Osborn engineering the test train.

Josh Jones removing a flip switch under the layout.

Carlos flip flopping the trucks on a commuter coach car as a troublshooting option.

Josh Jones helping me with the Geneva Station Light installation.
More under the table transactions.

We finally figured out the light parameters for the street lights I bought from China.

The voltage rating should be 3V. I tried 16V and burned two of them out. Bummer!
Also, since the lights are LED they need to be polar sensitive.

The orange wires are positive.
The blue wires are negative.

If you hook it up any other way, they won't work.

Hopefully by the time the next blog comes out, you'll see Geneva Station in Lights!

Here's a look at the Geneva Station Lights.

Here's the original switch I installed. The final installation will be planned for Sunday.

Saturday, October 1, 2016
I had to install a switch for the Geneva Station lights on the Central Control Tower Panel.
As I thought about it, I noticed the signage at the Central Control Tower needed to be updated.

So I did.
Here are the new signs...

West Power District
