Train Day!

w/Rob Fair 6:15-7:45pm 1.5 hrs.
Two major project progress...
1. Decoder installation in AC6000 locomotive.

Rob Fair preparing the locomotive for decoder "surgery".

Rob Fair removed the "dummy" decoder and is ready to install the new decoder.

Unfortunately, we couldn't rename the decoder, BUT we did get the locomotive to run and use the sound features.

2. Clinton St. extension...

Rob Fair helping put the Amtrak back into Chicago Terminal.

In order to put the west addition on the City Viaduct we had to expand Clinton Street.
Here you see Rob Fair installing the extension to Clinton St.

Our finished product on the west side of Chicago Terminal.

Next week we'll put the extensions around the south and east boundaries of Chicago Terminal

Train Day!

w/Ed Nelson and Jordan Osborn

Some train ops tonight.
Here are the players.

Ed Nelson will begin the oversight of the operation tonight.
We will run an WB intermodal train and a WB Metra Commuter train.

Jordan Osborn will be the engineer on the Intermodal train tonight.

We're highlighting the Intermodal Westbound UP AC6000 7510 leading the consist.

First video is getting the cars put together in Global 1

I ran two trains today and had a huge wreck.
Here are some photos of the wreckage.

I can see I hit the signal tower and took it with me down the mainline.

As you can see, it also derailed the passing Metra Commuter train.

Here's a view from the head of the trains as you look south at the wreckage.

These are the base parts of the signal tower where the accident initially occurred.
