Week 35

Well, I was so bummed about not getting pictures that I went downstairs and took these pictures. So we do have some progress to report as you will see. Have fun, we sure do!

My real regret in losing the pictures is I missed all my team members last night. Well here are some shots without peops.

Friday, March 13, 2015

 Starting at Global 1
Still lots to do, but we have a start.
Some of the pictures I lost showed the progress of gluing down the cork for Global 1 base.

Looking down the Intermodal yard at Global 1.

Under construction.

Here are some very fine detailed shots. I had to extend the switch throw.
Notch out the base. CA the extension with a base plate underneath.

 Same procedure, different switch.

Here are the two switches down the yard ladder.

Dean Hatzis and Carlos Baez worked on troubleshooting the well cars.
For some reason they tipped over on the curves.
We decided it wasn't the elevated curve, but the cars themselves.
I finished elevating the curved sections tonight.

From South Power District heading to West Power District.
This week I finished laying track for the Metra/WeGo yard track 1.

Lots of work to do at the crossover to Union Station.

Ed Nelson & Dean Hatzis worked on the girder bridge at Lake Street after Carlos left.

This video gives a nice overview of the South Power District which includes Global 1.

This next entry for the week will be meeting a challenge Carlos left with us last week.
He said, after I asked him about when trains would be running,
"I think you're a bit optimistic, but probably in a month."

Well, check this out!
